The Batam trip (08.10.06) was an eye-opener (and this is a politically correct answer, because if any T.A. or prof come across my blog, I would have left a good impression -.-)!!
But not an eye-opener literally, becos i was falling asleep throughout the whole trip. Woke up at 5.30AM (read again, AM!!!!) Went to several industrial hubs - King's construction/safety shoes-making industrial park, some biosciences (insecticide/pesticide) place, Philips, and Novotel (the Hotel, rhymes!) for a short seminar with the Indonesia's Chamber of Commerce, which had very kindly provided us with LOADS and LOADS of politically-correct responses in favor of business with Singapore.
Can you believe it? They said things like, "Singapore is good. We do not find any problems working with Singaporeans at all. The problem is US. The problems lie with US." ..... Alrighty. I'm sure that confession would attract lotsa investors for your honesty.
